Don't get me wrong, i love ALL animals, but i've been hearing about what they call designer mixes these days and i must say, really? A designer mix is a fancy way of saying you are buying a mixed dog. They give it a fancy name and then charge the same, if not more, than a full bred AKC registered dog. I've heard of people spending a whopping $600 for these animals! It's your money, you can of course spend it as you please, but i'd like to make a suggestion. Before you purchase your "designer mix" why not take a look at www.petfinder.com or find our local animal shelter under Hardin County Animal Shelter on facebook and see if you find your perfect new family member there first. It's only $62 and includes your current dog tags, but most importantly you are giving a home to a second chance dog that otherwise may not find a home. They are getting puppies in frequently if that is why you might choose to go to a breeder. They get detailed information about where the dog has been, they keep a close eye on them so they can let you know any ticks the dog may have, and if you really want to spend $600 then you could always adopt more than one :) Again, i say i have nothing against "designer mixes" or their owners. I do have an oposing opinion against puppy mills/farms and breeders with no real attachment to their litters though. I hope i didn't offend anyone, just giving you something to think about!
